In this edition of Plantfluencers Stories, we talk to Cristina Suda, a lover of plant design and agriculture.
Tell us a little bit about yourself...
My name is Cristina, I'm 30 years old, I live in Valencia and I'm the creator of "decovlc". Since I was a little girl I have loved the world of plants and everything related to them. This hobby comes from very close to me since my father is a farmer and he always taught me to enjoy nature and take care of it. At home we always have room for some more tenants, whether they are indoor or outdoor because I love gardening and landscaping as much as interior decoration.
And what can you tell us about your Instagram account?
My Instagram account was created a year ago to showcase two of my great passions, decorating and plants. They are present in all the rooms of my home, whether they are small or large, no matter their size. They bring to my home and my Instagram account that freshness, color and joy that I like so much and that my followers like so much. Ell@s are often asked about advice and care about them and I love to contribute everything I know and learn every day. There's nothing better than learning and sharing all of this with ell@s.

Speaking of your Instagram account... As we can see, your downfall is the big plants. Why?
My downfall, although it is true that they are the large plants, such as the Kentia or Areca palms and the strelitzias in all their versions, both the Reginae or usually known as "bird of paradise" with those flowers as striking as the Strelitzias Nicolai or Augusta where their leaves take me to a tropical paradise.
The fact that you have
a garden at home means that you always have gardening tasks both inside and outside the home. These moments are unique to enjoy this beautiful hobby.
There are also other plants such as the Monstera Deliciosa (Adam's Rib) and the Sansevieria that I love for their easy care, resistance and also purifying. You can't ask for more, can you? I'm going to tell you a little trick to make the leaves of your Monsteras or other indoor plants look green and shiny: Put a little beer in a bowl and with a soft cloth clean each of its leaves. Barley, in addition to giving them shine, gives them vigor.

Do you have any tips about the Kentia Palm that you want to share with us?
The Kentia or Arecas palm trees that we also have at home bring to any corner that bright green color, volume and are also great air purifiers. They themselves are an important decorative element.
My advice if you want to keep it as beautiful as the first day is: place it near a window or where it has good light, not direct rays because its leaves will burn, where there is a breeze and above all control the humidity of its soil.
They are plants that withstand drought better than overwatering (and much@s people die from this circumstance) That's why you should always stick your finger in the soil and check the degree of humidity. A super important and practical tip to make your leaves look nice is to moisten them with spray water.
