If there is something complicated in the world, it is to make lists of "the most beautiful things in the world", because there is a lot to be said between tastes and colours. There are hundreds of criteria that can make you perceive one plant as more beautiful than another: size, colours, flowering, care; besides, to say which plant is more beautiful is like making a list to know which are the cutest puppies, it is almost impossible.
I've met people who only want green plants, while others won't even look at a plant that doesn't have flowers. I love crassulas, cacti and succulents, but some people don't understand how I can see beauty in things covered in thorns. So it's important for you to know that this list is arbitrary, based on random criteria that many only have a couple of things in common: they don't give very showy flowers and they are available in the country. I may be missing a few species.
If you think there is a plant that should be mentioned, you can tell me about it on our social networks.
The most beautiful plants
Begonia Maculata
did you know that Christian Louboutin was inspired by the begonia maculata to create the iconic red sole of his shoes? This plant is just too beautiful. The leaves are elongated, deep green and dotted with large white dots, the underside of the leaf is deep red.
This plant will never go unnoticed and can even produce pretty pink flowers. It is not easy to care for, but it is well worth it.
Euphorbia cristata
This plant is a slightly different type of succulent, because at the end of its thorn-covered stem it opens up like a fan. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but it does have an interesting look, especially when it gets a little light-stressed and takes on a pinkish hue.

The best part is that it's very easy to care for.
Crotons
Crotons are one of my favourite plants because they have so many bright colours that make them the star of any space. They do well indoors and outdoors and can withstand extreme lighting and watering conditions.
The colours of their leaves can vary according to their age, light conditions and even the soil. They are ever changing and never cease to amaze you.
Fiddle leaf fig
Plants that can grow lush, green and outrageous are one of my favourites. They fill me with optimism and I feel they make a statement in the space they are in, take over and make the whole decor revolve around them. This is what happens with the fiddle leaf fig tree, which is so beautiful and lush that you will love it immediately.

It is also a purifying plant that will remove toxins from the environment and improve humidity levels.
Calathea Roseopicta
This plant has it all: thick foliage, beautiful but sober coloured leaves all over and it's easy to care for, plus it has a purifying and hydroregulating effect that works wonders for the skin. It looks great with sober decorations, with a lot of black, as it has deep green leaves, almost black, with light green spots and purple undersides.

The size is perfect, not too small and not too tall, so you can put it wherever you want and the care is quite simple.
String of pearls
This plant is one of my favourites, for 3 reasons: it has a very interesting shape (it literally looks like green beads on a string), it grows very, very fast and it hangs beautifully. When I bought this plant it was just a couple of strands in a mini pot, which I transplanted into a bigger pot with the right substrate and compost. After a few months it started to hang out of the pot and now it is a beauty that helps me to visually balance the space of my plants.
It is also easy to care for, like all succulents.
Calathea Triostar
Tropical plants have this combination of colour, sleek lines and abundant foliage that gives them an aura of exuberance, joy and life. They are the perfect accessory to add an extra splash of colour, forget about cushions on the sofa. The calathea triostar gets my creative juices flowing with its incredible pink tones, ranging from deep to pastel pink, with a splash of green thrown in for good measure.
Just looking at it inspires me to decorate places, combine pots and create new looks.
Phytonias
do you have a dramatic friend? do you have any dramatic friends, the kind that will make a scene over the slightest inconvenience? phytonias are the botanical equivalent of these people. They are one of my favourite plants not only because of their small, abundant, ribbed leaves, which can be white or pink, but because they are so dramatic and temperamental.
If you forget to water it or it doesn't like where it is, it will droop like it's on the verge of death and if you water it or move it, it will look perfect again in a few minutes. It's amazing and a lot of fun.
Adam's Rib
The Adam's Rib or Monstera deliciosa is one of the most photographed and Instagrammable plants in the world. If you don't believe me, visit that hashtag on Instagram and you'll see beauties; and I don't blame you. There's something so retro, tropical, luxurious, decadent and lush about its green leaves with holes in them that it's impossible not to be mesmerised by it.
the best part? It's so hardy and easy to care for. We should all have a monstera at home and let it tuck into our lives with its big leaves.
