Giving plants as a gift is a wonderful option, but sometimes we don't have much idea of what kind of plant that person might like. In fact, sometimes we want to get into this wonderful world but we don't know where to start... there are so many options! And the plants are so beautiful that you don't even know which one to choose. If you're trying to find the perfect plant, personality might hold the key. Read on to find out what type of plant suits your personality best.
A plant for every personality
There are hundreds of theories about personality, but to keep it simple, we are going to use Carl Jung's approach. This disciple of Freud laid the foundation for many of the personality concepts used today. In fact, if you have ever used the terms "introvert" and "extrovert", you should know that it was Jung who coined them.
From the 4 basic psychological functions (thinking, feeling, sensing, intuiting and perceiving), 2 character types are determined: introvert and extrovert; and from the conjunction of these characteristics we can establish 8 defined personality types:
Reflective - Extrovert
They are very cerebral, objective people who always act according to reason. They can appear cold and rigid to others, because they want to do the right thing and do not hesitate to impose their views on other people. Reflexive-extroverts do well with plants that require care and defined structures, such as a Bonsai Ficus Ginseng.

Reflexive introvert
The reflexive introvert is curious, always interested in learning. They have an active imagination and it is not uncommon for them to believe in conspiracy theories. They are very stubborn and strive to achieve what they set out to do. They are likely to be attracted to the mysterious movements of the Prayer Flower and will adore the colour scheme.

Sentimental Extrovert
I'm sure you know that person who seems to be able to make connections with other people almost immediately. They make friends, they bond and are very empathetic, they find it very easy to communicate with others and they love to be in groups. For these social butterflies the best plant is the Chinese Money Plant, as it is said that giving the buds of this prolific plant to friends will bring prosperity and good luck to all.

Sentimental introvert:
This type of person prefers solitude and relating to small groups. They may have good social skills, but large groups exhaust and overwhelm them. They are very empathetic, good listeners and do not like to be the centre of attention. For these introverts, the Peace Lily is ideal, as it will offer you an undemanding companion, which will give you beautiful flowers all year round and purify the environment without being too invasive. It also has a nice symbolism.

Perceptive Extrovert
This type of person seeks the adrenaline of the unknown. They are always looking for new experiences, they get bored with routine. Cheerful, lively, full of energy, they can't seem to sit still. These people find it hard to stay in repetitive situations and are constantly on the move, so a plant like Sansevieria can adapt to their adventurous pace of life. The snake plant is beautiful, but it is also almost immortal, so it can survive if its owner goes on an adventure and forgets to water it.

Perceptive Introvert
Artists, whether by vocation or by heart, tend to belong to this personality type. They appreciate the aesthetic, are always in search of stimulation and sensory experiences. They are able to enjoy and perceive details of texture, colours, shapes and smells as these are what shape their inner experiences. For these artists a plant such as Ctenanthe Burle Marxii or Calatheas (Roseopicta or triostar, much better if you give them a complete trio) is a good choice. They will love the shapes, their colours, spots and details.

Intuitive Extrovert
If you have met a person who is always starting a new business, learning something new, starting a project and they are active, then they are an extroverted intuitive. They are restless, tenacious and always need to be on the move, they don't know what it is to rest and need that stimulus of the new. For this type of person a hardy and very interesting plant like the Zamioculca is ideal. They grow fast, don't need a lot of care and are very beautiful. They are the kind of challenge they can take on, as they will not interfere with their plans.

Intuitive introvert
These are people who are always in the clouds, dreaming, imagining and creating. Empathy is their forte, in fact they feel as if they are able to guess what others think, need or want. They establish these deep bonds with others and are able to notice very subtle details. These people do well with plants that require a little more care, as they have the patience, the eye and the sensitivity to notice their requirements. Calathea Roseopicta, a Fittonia or a nice fern could be the perfect companion for an intuitive-introvert.
