Advice

Cacti do not like their leaves to get wet. When watering, do so by submerging the pot in water, so as to avoid making the pot sad and limp.

Signs of weakness

• Soft leaves or black stems: over-watering
• Shrivelled leaves, dry potting mix: thirsty plant, under-watering
• Flower drop: temperature fluctuations, cold draughts or roots drying out or becoming waterlogged
