Dracaena Sunray
Advice
-
Moderate watering: Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry out before watering again. Avoid waterlogging.
-
Bright Indirect Light: Place the plant in a brightly lit location but avoid intense direct sunlight.
-
Moderate Humidity: The Dracaena Sunray can tolerate moderate humidity levels, but will appreciate occasional sprays of water.
-
Fertilisation: Feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduce fertilisation in autumn and winter.
-
Pruning: Cut back yellow or damaged leaves to encourage healthy growth.
Signs of weakness
-
Yellow Leaves: If the leaves of your Dracaena Sunray are turning yellow, it may be a sign of overwatering or inadequate drainage.
-
Brown Tips: Brown tips on the leaves may be due to dry air, low humidity or excessive fertiliser use.
-
Drooping Leaves: Both underwatering and overwatering can cause leaves to wilt and drop. Be sure to follow a consistent watering schedule.
-
Leaf Spots: Fungal infections or bacterial diseases can cause leaf spots. If you notice irregular spots or discolouration, investigate quickly.
-
Stunted Growth: Lack of adequate nutrients or lack of sufficient sunlight can result in stunted growth.
