Advice

  • Light: Locate in bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
  • Watering: Water moderately when the substrate is dry to the touch. Make sure the water drains well to avoid root rot.
  • Substrate: Use a well-drained substrate, such as an orchid or succulent mix.
  • Humidity: Although it adapts to different humidity levels, it prefers slightly humid environments. Spray its leaves occasionally in dry climates.
  • Fertilisation: Apply a balanced, dilute fertiliser once a month during spring and summer.
  • Pruning: Cut back long or damaged stems to encourage dense, healthy growth.
  • Support: Provide a climbing support, such as a trellis or similar structure, to help guide its growth.
  • Ventilation: Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal and pest problems.

Signs of weakness

  • Yellowing Leaves: Indicates over-watering or poor drainage.
  • Withered or drooping leaves: May be the result of lack of watering or direct sun exposure.
  • Slow or Stagnant Growth: Indicates lack of nutrients or insufficient light.
  • Brown Leaf Tips: Could be a sign of low humidity or exposure to cold drafts.
  • Mildew in the substrate: Sign of overwatering and poor ventilation.
