Pachypodium lamerei

A spectacularly shaped succulent, with thorns on the bottom and leaves on the top, it gives the impression of a small palm tree. Like all succulents, it is very easy to care for. Tropical and interesting in style, it attracts everyone's attention.

Recommendations

It can be toxic if the leaves are ingested.

Be careful with the thorns.

Too much water can cause it to rot.

Care
  • Light: prefers direct light, but can also be happy with abundant indirect light.
  • Moderate watering: only when the substrate is dry, in winter it may be necessary to suspend watering.
  • Humidity: you can spray it to provide extra humidity when temperatures are high
  • Top tip: As it is a slow-growing plant, it is advisable to fertilise every two weeks in spring and summer.
Benefits

If it receives enough light, it can produce white flowers in summer.

In the wild, this plant can grow to a height of over 8 metres.

Its name comes from the Greek meaning ''thick foot'', and is given by the lower shape of its stem
