Advice

  • It prefers a bright but indirect location, avoiding direct sunlight which can burn its leaves.
  • It is important to keep the substrate slightly damp, but not waterlogged.
  • It appreciates high ambient humidity, so it is advisable to spray its leaves regularly or place it near sources of humidity, such as trays with water.
  • It is advisable to keep it away from draughts and provide it with a warm, stable environment.

Signs of weakness

  • Yellow leaves: May indicate over- or under-watering, or that the plant is exposed to cold draughts.
  • Wilted leaves: This may be the result of inadequate watering, lack of ambient humidity or exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Loss of leaf colour: This may be due to excessive exposure to direct sunlight or insufficient watering.
  • Leaves turning brown at the edges: This may be caused by low humidity, dry draughts or unbalanced watering.
