Signs of weakness

Although these cacti do not have many serious pest or disease problems, there are some common conditions to watch out for. Most often you will notice a mealybug problem, which can affect almost every part of the plant, from the roots to the ribs. To treat them, inspect the entire plant and use a brush or high-pressure water hose to remove as many of the insects as you can from the plant. Then treat with an insecticide until all traces of infection are gone.
