Advice

  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
  • It will keep its glossy appearance if you wipe the leaves with a cloth from time to time.
  • Feed it with a liquid fertiliser about once a month (no more than that) in spring and summer.
  • It can tolerate periods of occasional drought and live in dark spaces. Keep it out of direct sunlight.

Signs of weakness

  • Brown stems and yellowing leaves: these suggest that your ZZ plant has been overwatered. Be sure to let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
  • Dry, crunchy leaf tips: indicates that your plant is under-watered or burnt by direct sunlight.
