The 4 Cutest Winter

Plants Pansies Pansies

are the quintessential winter flowers. There are many varieties, and almost all of them are frost-resistant plants. They should be planted in an area where they receive full sunlight, because although they resist the cold very well, they require a lot of light to grow.

You have to be very careful with watering, because there is a risk of root rot if the soil becomes waterlogged or if the substrate is not easy to drain. Do this every 2 to 3 days in moderation. When watering, you should avoid letting the water touch the flowers because they will burn. If you want to lengthen flowering, trim off faded flowers and stem tips to encourage the emergence of new buds.

Natural Pine

Pines are hardy, hundred-year-old trees that remain green and radiant even under the harsh winter conditions.

In many unscrupulous nurseries, they cut young trees, which they place in a pot with soil and which barely last the month of December. For this reason, it is advisable to ask what species of pine you are buying, if it is adapted for life indoors and in a pot. An excellent option is to buy from online plant nursery stores, which guarantee the integrity of their plants.

Pine trees are very resistant to extreme climates, both cold and hot, although their ideal temperature ranges between 10 and 25°C. Irrigation will depend on the season. In winter, water should be watered to keep the soil moist, but be careful not to flood the roots, which are very delicate and can rot easily.

Hellebore

is a group of perennial plants, beautiful and highly appreciated for their beautiful flowers, wide and with beautiful pistils. It usually blooms between the months of December and March, although several extend this period until May. It is resilient, it has great adaptive capacity. It prefers shade or semi-shade, it should never be in direct sun, as it damages the flowers.

Hellebore requires abundant watering, the soil should always be moist. It doesn't grow very well in drought or very hot conditions. You can fertilize it once a year with manure and shortly before flowering, use a mineral fertilizer to stimulate flower growth.

Poinsettia or Poinsettia The poinsettia

adorns the

winter season with its colour, to the point of becoming the emblematic protagonist of decorations. Although it is a plant typical of warm climates, it can tolerate winter indoors.

It is a plant that prefers bright environments, although you should avoid exposing it to drafts or heating. If you have no choice and must place it in a heated place, spray its leaves first to prevent it from harming it.

You should always keep your substrate moist, but avoid wetting the flowers and leaves so that they do not deteriorate. You can use immersion irrigation, placing it for about 15 minutes in a bowl of warm water and then letting the excess water drain out. To ensure it blooms the following year, prune the stems, leaving them about 10 cm long. In September-October, cover it completely with a dark plastic or thick cardboard for about 12 hours a day. This will stimulate the growth of the flowers.
