The substrate contains a 5 litre mixture with:

• Activated carbon
• Coconut shell shavings
• Orchid bark
• Sphagnum moss
• DCM Organic nutrients

why does the orchid mix work?

• As most orchids are epiphytes (plants that do not grow in soil) they prefer a substrate with plenty of aeration and space, so there is plenty of orchid bark.

• Sphagnum moss helps to retain moisture around the roots of the plant.

how to use the orchid soil mix?

1. Start by removing as much of the old soil as possible.
2. Make sure you also remove any dead foliage that may be left on the plant with scissors.
3. Add a small layer of orchid soil to the bottom of the pot.
4. Place the plant in the pot and slowly add orchid soil to the sides to fill the pot.
5. Apply the orchid mix lightly to the pot.
6. Be sure to water the orchid mix well after repotting, as this helps to settle the mix and the roots.
