this edition of Historias de Plantfluencers we talk to Elena Páez, a graduate in Anthropology and passionate about plants and everything that surrounds them.

Tell us a little bit about yourself...

"My curious nature, my fondness for botany and collecting botanical encyclopedias, nineteenth-century engravings, herbariums, plants and seeds from the places visited have made the current botanical cabinet the natural evolution of my adolescent room. And it is with my degree in Anthropology when I manage to unite my two passions, observing plants and reflecting on the behavior of humans in front of and around them, developing my own branch of botanical anthropology. It is from this cultural and social relationship with plants that his landscaping and interior decoration projects arise. It is working, as well as botanical consultancies to our individuals in their own homes and online these days.

What was it that caught your attention to enter the world of plants?

love houseplants, I guess I was always impressed by the plants that were in the greenhouses of the different botanical gardens that I had the opportunity to visit. Likewise, the greenhouse of the Atocha Station was always one of my references when I was little and I walked there with my parents.

What is your weekly care routine?

More than a weekly routine, I have a daily routine. Every morning I carry out my "military" inspection of all the plants I have at home, I spray them, I observe if they have dry leaves, if new shoots have emerged, if they need watering, etc.

Besides, as soon as I wake up I always play classic radio, I like it and he likes it. The truth is that these days that we are at home, being able to do it very calmly and calmly is a good exercise to face the day. What's your favorite plant? Why?

A priori all and none, I like calatheas very much, their purple underside is wonderful. In addition, I could define them as eternal survivors and because of their brave trait, they always come back out.
