For a decoration with impact, there is nothing like a tall, voluptuous plant with lots of greenery. When it comes to making stylistic choices, there is room for everything, even for those who believe that more is always better. Whether you want to liven up a forgotten corner of the house, add some colour to the office or give visual height to a space, tall plants are excellent allies in decorating and creating spaces.
why should you prefer a tall plant?
- Because you have space
If you have space to spare, if your living room looks too empty but you don't want it cluttered with furniture or objects, then a couple of tall plants will be perfect to fill those visual gaps, much better if you choose plants that have nice foliage and place them creating a nice composition with the rest of the furniture.
- Why you need visual height
The decoration of a space should seek a certain harmony on a visual level, that all the decorative or functional objects are not concentrated on a single plane but flow, creating spaces that invite rest and relaxation. With small flats and very high ceilings it is common to find that furniture and ornaments have been concentrated on the lower levels, close to the floor; perhaps with something on the walls. This gives a cluttered, heavy appearance. In these cases a high floor provides a visual connection between floor and ceiling, offering height to the whole.
- Because you want green, but don't have the space
If you love plants, but don't have surfaces such as tables, shelves and the like on which to place those lovely little pots and a large number of plants, you can place a simple large pot in a little corner and let a pretty plant take care of spreading its lustrous green leaves. It sounds contradictory, but with its size, a single plant of the right species will suffice.
- Because you want a natural and lush corner
At Be Green we don't judge when it comes to plants. Tall plants for every need
Now that you have decided on a tall plant, you should take into account certain characteristics to choose the right species, as it is not the same to have a Kentia palm tree as a Brazilian trunk. To help you with the task, you can use this small guide or browse our catalogue using the detailed search engine, which will allow you to choose the perfect plant for your space and lighting needs.
- For small spaces that need visual height
Lemon Dracena is perfect, because it is very tall but has moderate foliage, so it won't add visual weight but just the right amount of green. It does very well in dry environments with moderate light. It requires watering a couple of times a week and spraying to keep it nice and green.

- For large spaces, which need a lot of greenery
The fiddle leaf fig is one of my favourites for those large spaces that need height and abundance. The large, green, lustrous leaves are beautiful and it can grow up to 2 metres tall. It does best in well-lit places with a rather warm temperature. Watering is not so demanding, as it should be watered when the soil feels dry to the touch. It will look beautiful if you spray it frequently, as it prefers humidity. As if that wasn't enough, it has purifying properties.

- For small spaces that want green
If your flat or office is too small but you don't have space for small pots, you can solve your green deficiency with a Brazilian trunk. They are tall plants, with leaves only at the end of the trunk, so they won't take up much visual or physical space. It has very elegant lines, so it will look great in minimalist and modern decorations. It does well in indirect light, but not too much. It requires little watering but likes to have its leaves sprayed from time to time. It is in the purifying group of plants, so it will improve the air you breathe.

- For poorly lit spaces
The Kentia palm is one of those plants that do well in low light. It can grow up to two metres, and while it likes humid environments, it will have no problem adapting to drier conditions. It requires little watering and is very easy to care for. In addition to being very pretty and elegant, this lounge palm also purifies the air and eliminates environmental toxins.

- For spaces that require lush foliage
Big, lush and better. If you want a plant that has size and dimension then we recommend a beautiful Adam's rib. This plant can grow as tall as you want it to, following the shape you want it to be if you put wands to guide it. Its leaves are deep green, shiny and abundant. It likes indirect light, but is not at all fussy about watering, in fact it prefers dry environments. Just keep it away from freezing currents. If you combine it with other plants of different sizes, you can set up your jungle corner in no time at all.
